No-show tariff

No-show tariff for missed appointments

Bronovo Hospital applies a no-show tariff to patients who miss appointments without cancelling on time.

It happens regularly that patients miss an appointment with one of our outpatient clinics or other departments (such as radiology, ultra-sound scanning, physiotherapy, etc.). This is frustrating for the health professionals who are unable to use their time efficiently, as well as for other patients who are trying to make an appointment. In order to stimulate patients to attend their appointments, Bronovo Hospital will be charging the legally determined no-show tariff from 1 January 2008. If you are unable to attend an appointment, you should cancel it by telephone (Mondays to Fridays) not less than 24 hours beforehand. If you fail to do this, you will be charged the no-show tariff.

What should I do if I can’t keep an appointment?
Do you have an appointment with one of our outpatient clinics or other departments (such as radiology, ultra-sound scanning, physiotherapy, etc.) which you cannot keep? Then you should cancel it at least 24 hours beforehand by telephone (Mondays to Fridays) with the department in question. Your cancellation will be recorded and you can immediately make a new appointment.

How much is the no-show tariff?
In 2009 the amount of the no-show tariff was legally fixed at € 43.30* per missed appointment. Most health insurers will not allow you to declare this amount.

In conclusion
Bronovo Hospital is constantly seeking to improve the quality of its care. Good healthcare also means that you can receive assistance quickly. If patients who are not able to attend appointments cancel them on time, waiting lists can be kept as short as possible.

As a hospital, in order to bill the no-show tariff, we are obliged to inform you that we are exercising our right to charge it. Amongst others, we are fulfilling that obligation by means of this folder.

* The right to change the tariff is reserved.
