Your first visit
Welcome to Bronovo Hospital. We are pleased that you have chosen to receive medical services in our hospital. We are committed to making your hospital visit as comfortable and convenient as possible.
Making an appointment in Bronovo Hospital without a referral Important information for all patients
When you make an appointment with one of the specialists in Bronovo Hospital without a referral letter from your GP (Family Doctor) it is possible that your Health Insurance Company will not pay for the costs of your treatment.
If your Health Insurance Company does not refund the treatment costs, you will have to pay your-self and you will receive an invoice from Bronovo Hospital or from your Health Insurance Company.
Acute care in the Accident and Emergency Department (SEH) of Bronovo Hospital will always be paid for by your Health Insurance Company.
Registration of your
Dutch citizen service number
If you have an appointment at Bronovo Hospital, please register at the Registration Desk in the Central Hall and you will receive a new blue registration card. Your Dutch citizen service number (BSN) then will then be registered in our administration.
Don’t forget to bring your ID and insurance card.
More information about this new procedure in the Health Care System.
When you arrive at the hospital, please report to the Registration Desk, located in the Central Hall on the ground floor 15 minutes before your appointment.
The Registration Desk is open om work days from 07.30 - 16.30 hours and Tuesday evenings from 17.15 - 21.00 hours. You will be asked to verify all demographic and insurance information and a registration card will be made for you. What do you bring with you to the Registration Desk?
- a valid medical insurance document
- your Identity Documentation: passport, driving licence, Identity Card or Residence Permit
- particulars of your (new) family doctor (G.P.) and/or change of address
Registration of children MRSA contamination
Children also have to be registered in the hospital. Children have their own passport/Identity Documentation (from 14 years old) or are entered on their parents’ passport. One of these documents must be shown at the Registration Desk. In addition, you must have a valid medical insurance document for your child.
If your child does not have his/her own Identity Document, please bring his/her SOFI-number with you. On request, the Tax Office will send this number to the parents by post.
Are there changes to your personal particulars? If you move home, change your family doctor/GP or your medical insurance, will you please give this new information at the Registration Desk. In this way, we can keep our information up-to-date.
Contamination with MRSA can present a risk to you and your fellow patients when undergoing medical treatment. Therefore, before going to the hospital you must inform your primary care physician or Outpatient Clinic if you:
- were admitted to and/or treated at a foreign health care facility in the past two months;
- were admitted to and/or treated at a Dutch health care facility where MRSA was prevalent in the past two months;
- are in close contact with live pigs or veal calves due to your job (e.g., pig and calf farmers, veterinarians, slaughterhouse employees);
- live on a farm with pigs;
- were ever infected with MRSA in the past.
Your name, address and certain other details will be registered at the Reception Desk in the central hall. Bronovo Hospital uses a central computer system that is linked with the other hospitals in The Hague. Your patient identification information is therefore also available in these hospitals.
