DBC
DBC stands for Diagnosis Treatment Combination. A DBC charts the activities of the hospital resulting for the needs of a patient. All steps are listed, from the first visit to the doctor to the last check-up.
In most cases a treatment in the Bronovo Hospital is fully reimbursed, depending on the conditions of your insurance policy.
A-section and B-section
Most of the DBC’s have a price that is agreed on nationwide by the Dutch Health Care Authority (Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit - Nza). About 90 per cent of DBC’s have a fixed price: the A-section.
A number of treatments fall into the B-section. The hospital may negotiate its own price with the health insurance companies. These are mostly treatments that are easily planned, such as treatment for inguinal hernia, hip and knee replacement, cataracts and (inflamed) tonsils. This is not acute or emergency care.
Price list
You can find an overview of the DBC’s in the DBC price list (DBC-prijslijst). This price list is valid from 01-08-2011 and until further notice. Typing errors are unforeseen and excluded.

Please check with your health insurance company whether they have a contract with us, if you require treatment for a condition in the B-section at the Bronovo Hospital. If this is the case, the health insurance company will reimburse all costs for the treatment. If this is not the case, you can still be treated at the Bronovo Hospital, but you may be required to pay for part of the treatment yourself. Please discuss this with your health insurance company in order to prevent unpleasant surprises!
