Bruising/sprain

  • Cool: Cool for 10-15 minutes with a coldpack, a bag filled with ice cubes and water or, for example, a bag of frozen vegetables.

Broken bone/dislocation (or suspected)

  • Store the tooth in milk, water or in the patient’s mouth (only if the patient is fully conscious) so that the tooth does not dry out.
  • Go to a dentist (on call) as soon as possible.
Bleeding
  • Clean the wound and surrounding skin with lukewarm water and pat dry.
  • Cover with a bandage.
  • If the wound continues to bleed profusely, apply a pressure bandage and elevate the body part.
