Operation unit

The Operation unit comprises five clinical and two 'day' operation rooms. In addition, there are two treatment rooms, one holding area and a recovery area. The holding area is attended for patients who are being prepared for an operation. Patients are taken to the recovery room as they come round after the operation.

All specialism are represented in the Operation unit. Apart from heart and brain surgery, all types of operations are performed in our unit. Operations are performed under local, regional or general anaesthesia.
