Heart First Aid (EHH)

Set up in January 2009, Heart First Aid Bronovo (Eerste Hart Hulp, EHH) is in Coronary care unit/CCU (Hartbewaking), 3rd floor, corridor A.

The EHH is intended for emergencies and patients referred by their GP. Patients who have been hospitalised for conditions such as a heart rhythm disorder, may telephone the department themselves.

Who is eligible for Heart First Aid?

• Patients with chest pain
• Patients with palpitations
• Patients with dyspnoea or presumed cardiac symptoms

Patients receive comprehensive examination and treatment in the EHH. Patients who arrive with the above symptoms between 8.00am and 5.00pm can be taken to Heart First Aid without first being examined in Accidents & Emergencies. If it turns out that a patient has to be admitted for a longer period of time, he or she will be transferred to the coronary care unit or a nursing ward.
