Clinical Neurophysiology

Research Department
The Clinical Neurophysiology department is a research department where disorders in the function of the brain and nervous system are investigated. Such disorders can be established by examinations using technically advanced equipment.
The following Clinical Neurophysiology examinations are conducted at Bronovo Hospital.
- EMG examination, where the muscle and nerve function are examined
- EEG examination, where the function of the brain is examined
- Duplex examination, where the blood supply to the brain is examined
- EP examination, where the function of the hearing, touch and sight nerves are examined
- ENG or balance examination, where the organ of balance is examined
- Polysomnography, a sleep examination in which the sleep pattern and breathing functions are examined.
Vascular diagnostics
The Clinical Neurophysiology department also houses a Vascular Laboratory. The function of the blood vessels is examined here.
This is done by means of the following examinations:
- Ankle-Arm Index, a pressure measurement in the arms and the ankles
- Duplex examination, in which the blood vessels in the abdomen or legs are examined
The examinations in the Vascular Laboratory are conducted when requested by a vascular surgeon.
