Clinical Chemistry and Haematology Laboratory (KCHL)
Consultants >>
In the Clinical Chemistry and Haematology Laboratory (KCHL), hundreds of different types of examinations are carried out. Most of the tests are done on blood or urine. A few examples are: examinations in connection with food allergies or hay fever, determination of the blood glucose level in connection with diabetes, infertility testing, the determination of protein in the urine in connection with kidney disease, haematological testing to determine anaemia, blood tests in preparation for a blood transfusion or to check the clotting of the blood and testing in connection with a heart attack.
All of these tests - which lead to more than one million results per year - are done by the KCHL for a great variety of clients. The most important client is, of course, the patient himself. The requests for patient testing come from general practitioners, specialists, midwives, nursing homes and assisted care facilities and the Penitentiary Hospital. They also receive the results, either on paper or electronically.

The Bronovo Clinical Chemistry and Hematology Laboratory has been an accredited laboratory since 24 January 2001.
