Quality indicators
In order to evaluate the results, Bronovo uses the quality indicators of the Inspection for Healthcare. These indicators make hospital performance publicly accessible and give an impression of the quality. Points which are evaluated include whether or not the hospital has a hallmark of quality, the percentage of patients that develop bedsores and whether certain risky surgeries are performed frequently enough. Not only the organisation, but also the patients can draw conclusions from these results. The performance indicators for Bronovo and other hospitals are listed on www.ziekenhuizentransparant.nl.
Besides the indicators for Inspection, Bronovo provides information that helps Visible Care (Zichtbare Zorg). This is a collaboration between the Inspection for Healthcare (IGZ), Association of Medical Specialists, Netherlands Health Insurers, Netherlands Nurses and Carers (V & VN), Dutch Federation of University Medical Centres (NFU), Dutch Association of Hospitals (NVZ) and the Dutch Patients and Consumers Federation (NPCF). In the meantime Visible Care requires information about 46 different medical problems.
Bronovo uses the results of indicators to optimise the care and service.
